Rights of Children
Survival Rights: Right to life, food, clothing, shelter and medical services


Development Rights: Right to those things that children require in order to reach their full potential. Children have a right to education, play & leisure, cultural activities, access to information and freedom of thought, conscience and religion.


Protection Rights: Right to be safeguarded against all forms of abuse, neglect and exploitation. Children should be protected from sexual, physical & emotional abuse. They should also be protected from abuse in the criminal justice system, child labour, drug abuse and neglect


Participation Rights: Right to be allowed to take an active role in their communities and nations. Children should be allowed the freedom to express opinions, to have a say in matters affecting their own lives, to join associations and to assemble peacefully.
